  • 10th Anniversary Show

10th Anniversary Show May 14 - August 21, 2022 The Lancaster Museum of Art and History celebrates ten years of serving the Antelope Valley community at its current location on The BLVD. The museum opened its doors on May 5th, 2012, as a part of an extensive revitalization of Downtown Lancaster — serving as a social anchor for the community and The BLVD Cultural District. In 2022, the museum programs four facilities across the Valley including: MOAH, MOAH:CEDAR, the Western Hotel Museum, and the Elyze Interpretive Center. This exhibition reflects the hopes of the community, further expanding the museum’s curriculum and programming. This exhibition features four solo exhibitions and a group exhibit, Human Natures , curated from artworks MOAH has collected over the last decade. Currently on view is a 20-year survey of contemporary photographer Chris Engman's works and conceptual artist Debra Scacco's immersive installation, centering conversations around environmentalism and water extraction. Also on view is photographer Sam Comen's exhibition focusing on essential workers during the COVID-19 pandemic and Dutch artist Super A’s whimsical and hyperrealistic iterations of iconic pop-culture figures. Throughout this exhibition, viewers will encounter various facets at the heart of MOAH’s core principles, such as community-centered artwork and the evolution of the Contemporary Art Movement.
