David Alabo: I found us in the future… constructs worlds that feel at once familiar and fantastical. Ghanaian-Moroccan artist Alabo creates immersive, Afrofuturist narratives through vibrant digital environments and bronze sculpture that blend mythology, folklore, and possible futures for African diasporic communities. The exhibition explores the notion of relics of future pasts, imagined artifacts from civilizations yet to come and remnants of alternate timelines. Together, the works invite viewers to consider how future societies might interpret the traces we leave behind, expanding ideas of dominant histories and possibilities beyond linear time.
