"Tent Cities" at the Western Hotel

This photo shows the backyard of the Western Hotel, c. 1914. “Tent cities” similar to this one were established to accommodate large crews that came through Lancaster working on various infrastructure projects, such as the construction of the aqueduct.

Proprietors of the hotel can be seen with Myrtie Webber second from left, and George Webber in the center, leaning against a tree.
